Why you need Clinical Sports Massage and Sports Therapy
As a therapist I’m not only concerned with treatment and management of sports injuries, but also the preventing sports injuries and the good training practices needed for a healthy body.
As a keen runner, cyclist and climber, I know personally, the frustration that injury causes, and will work to the best of my ability to keep you participating in your chosen sports and activities. Experience has shown that often, with the correct management, I can keep you active until symptoms resolve.
When I examine and treat you, my goal is not only to relieve your symptoms, but also to remove the conditions that can predispose you to injury, stop the pain of the injury and try to stop it re-occurring. Leaving you fit and able to carry on with your exercise plans.
This is a full-body check; Think of this as your musculoskeletal MOT.
During this I take a full case history and examination, noting stiffness or restriction of the joints and the muscles.
Treatment uses an integrated approach to how symptoms in one part of your body may be related to a problem in another place.
I will help you prepare for exercise, as well as giving you advice on how to avoid injuries, any improvements you can make to your own conditioning. I may also make recommendations to get you back on track.
Already training? Think of this as a car service, there to prevent breakdowns or injury.
I’ll take the tightness out of those muscles, improve the movement at your joints leaving you looser, more relaxed with better to flow and ready to go out the next day.
Appointments are either 30 minutes or 60 minutes.
I recommend that you take a full hour for your first appointment. This allows the me to give a much more thorough treatment and enables me to focus on any areas that are particularly troublesome.
Injured or have a recurring injury?
If you were a car this would be a repair, because occasionally, even in the best cared for car you get break downs. Unfortunately so does our body.
Treating using an osteopathic approach of structure and function are inter-related, I will treat you and help you regain your normal function, getting you back to your usual activities fast as I possibly can.
Massage before or after competitions?
Some like a massage before and after events to make sure they’re feeling their best without and stiffness or tightness before competing.
People also like massage after competitions or particularly hard training sessions to help them recover faster.
These can be for 30 minutes or an hour.

Sports injury treatment can cover a broad spectrum of conditions and complaits. This is a short list of some of the more common sports related problems that’s I’ve recently treated.
